## Valeo Personal Data Protection general principles

As a global automotive company, Valeo continuously develops and maintains relationship with clients, suppliers, prospects, employees, candidates, students and other stakeholders. For purely business related purposes, Valeo needs to gather, store and use some of their Personal Data.

Valeo also develops products that may collect, use and transfer Personal Data (drivers, passengers, pedestrians….). In very rare occasions, Valeo may act as data processor.

In any event, Valeo is committed to processing Personal Data in compliance with Data Protection Regulations including the recent European Global Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and to respecting the rights of Data Subjects.

Valeo policy is to collect Personal Data in a fair, lawful and transparent way, to use it for legitimate purposes only, to implement measures to protect its integrity, to retain it for no longer than necessary and to fully support the exercise of their rights by Data Subjects.

Where Valeo needs to outsource European Personal Data Processes and/or to transfer European Personal Data outside of the European Union, the selected Data Processors must comply with the Data Protection laws and Valeo Data Protection Contractual terms and instructions. They include Valeo’s requirements in terms of Data Breach, Data Subject rights or claims management and the prohibition of using unapproved sub processors. International transfer clauses are also signed as legally required.

When Valeo develops, engineers and manufactures products that may trigger Data Protection obligations under the GDPR, Valeo takes Privacy and Security by Design into account at the time of engineering and developing such products. The Data Protection obligations where applicable are described in the related product Data Protection specifications, thus allowing the customer to fully understand the actions taken to comply with regulation.

To ensure the proper development and safety of our products, Valeo’s prototypes, at the stage of engineering have to be tested. Some of these tests and pilots may need to be conducted in real life environment and may involve drivers, passengers or pedestrian data collection. Data is collected, analyzed and used for testing only, in relation to the technology under development within a specific Data Protection framework meant to protect Data Subjects.

The above commitments are supported by the Valeo Data Protection Compliance Program that encompasses numerous policies, procedures, tools, forms and contractual clauses as well as a detailed training and awareness program. **Valeo whistleblowing System** is also available to anyone who has reason to believe that the Valeo Data Protection Compliance Program is not being complied with or wants to report potential violations of this program in the law.

Cookies used by Valeo are:

The issue and use of cookies by third parties are subject to the personal privacy protection policies of these third parties.

VALEO gives information regarding the purpose of the cookies that it has knowledge of and the means that you have to make choices regarding these cookies via the third party applications integrated into the site.

VALEO may include applications provided by third parties on the site, which make it possible to share the content of the site with other persons or to inform these other persons of the consultation or your opinion concerning an element of content on the site. This is the case for example for the "Share" and "Like" buttons, from social networks such as Facebook, Twitter, etc.

The social network that provides any such application buttons may identify you by means of this button, even when you have not used this button during your visit to the site. This type of application button may allow the social network concerned to monitor your browsing activity on the site, simply because your social network account was activated on your terminal (session open) while you were navigating on the site.

VALEO has no control over the process used by the social networks to collect information relating to browsing on the site and relating to the personal data that they have. VALEO invites you to read the privacy protection policies of these social networks to ascertain the purposes, particularly the advertising purposes, of the browsing data that they may collect using these application buttons. These protection policies must in particular allow you to express your choices to these social networks, in particular by changing the settings of your accounts on each of these networks.

On your first visit on our website, you can accept or refuse the use of cookies.

You have several possibilities in order to manage cookies. Any change to the settings carried out by the user may change the user's browsing activity on the Internet and the conditions of access to certain services requiring the use of cookies.

The user may choose to express and change his preferences regarding cookies at any time, by using the methods described below.

#### The choices that are offered by your browser software:

You may configure you browser software so that the cookies are stored on your device or, on the contrary, so that they are rejected, either systematically, or depending on who issues them. You can also configure your browser so that the acceptance or rejection of the cookies is proposed before a cookie can be stored on your device. For further details, see section (4.3).

## a) Accepting cookies
The saving of cookies on your device is your decision, that you can express and change at any time, free of charge, by making choices from among those offered by your browser software.

If you have accepted the saving of cookies in your browser software on your device, the cookies integrated into the pages and content that you had consulted can be stored temporarily in a specific location in your device. Only the issuer will be able to read them, using that device.

## b) Refusing cookies
If you choose to reject cookies on your device, or if you delete any cookies already stored on it, you will not be able to use a number of features that are necessary to browse certain sections of the site. This would be the case if you attempt to access any of our content or services that require you to log in. This is also the case as concerns technical compatibility when VALEO cannot recognize the type of browser used on your device, its default language and display or the country from which your device appears to be connected to the internet.

If the browser is set to reject cookies on your device, VALEO assumes no responsibility for consequences related to the degraded operation of its services resulting from it not being able to store or view the cookies necessary for the functioning of its services and that you have rejected or deleted.

## c) How to exercise your choice in the browser you use ?
Each browser has a different way of managing cookies and cookie settings. The configuration of your browser is described in its help menu which will inform you of how to change your cookie settings.

If the terminal is used by several people and when one data terminal has several browsers, VALEO cannot ensure that the services intended for this data terminal actually correspond to the use of this terminal by you and not that of another user of this terminal.

If this is the case, the sharing of the device with others and the configuration of the browser settings with respect to cookies is carried out by each user according to his free choice and under his own responsibility.
